Commandment
This is my commandment, That
ye love one another, as I have loved
you. John 15:12
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my
love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
John 15:10
These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in
you, and that your joy might be full.

| We think of the 10 commandments when we think of commandments, but here, Jesus plainly tells us that His commandment is that we are to love (not hate) one another. Jesus is the Great Center of our lives, and genuine love is the basis of Jesus' commandment. The 10 commands of God, simple as they are, have value only in His and His Son's love to us. The 10 commands are God's love to us, and it was Jesus, when He was on this earth, who showed in reality, His Father's love to us. Jesus was, and continues to be, the living demonstration of God's love to us. |
