Bible Teachings Relating to Jesus

The Bible teaches us the following:

The literal creation of this earth - that is God created the world in 6 literal 24 hour days (rather than a long length of time), and that He rested the seventh day after the sixth day.  The word "Sabbath" means "rest", and that is why the seventh day is called the Sabbath.  We learn that the one we know as "God" is also known in the Old Testament as "the Lord".  This is the one the Jews called "Yahweh".  "Yahweh" created the world through His Son, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.

The Bible is God's guidebook written by humans called prophets, messengers.  The Holy Spirit impressed upon the minds of these "prophets" what to write, and they wrote the entire Bible (Scriptures) over a period of several thousand years.  The Bible is not man's idea, but God's book to us as His human beings to give us all we need to know for the benefit of our lives here on this earth, and the preparation of our lives here on earth for going to heaven when Jesus comes again to take us back to heaven with Him.

The literal story of Adam and Eve as the first people to inhabit planet earth.

Adam and Eve, who after their creation were loyal to God, gave their loyalty over to Satan, a created being of God.  This decision and action on their part broke their relationship with God.  They transferred their loyalty to Satan when they listened to Satan and did what he suggested they do which was directly opposite of what God told Adam and Eve to do.  This brought the death penalty on Adam and Eve and their posterity, you and me.

As a result of this relationship break, God's Son was promised to the humans of this planet to re-establish this broken relationship with God.  Jesus became the go-between God and the human race.  Since death was the penalty for sinning against God (breaking this relationship with Him), Jesus was to come to this earth, live a perfect life, die as the "spotless lamb of God", be resurrected again by His Father in heaven, and administer His responsibility in the Heavenly Sanctuary for the forgiveness of sins for the rest of man's probationary time on this earth.

The animal sacrifices of the Old Testament pointed to the Messiah, Jesus, as the promise of God that Jesus would be the Redeemer of the human race, and re-unite us with our Father in Heaven.

Jesus did come, as was promised.  Jesus did live a perfect life all the days of His life on earth.  He died the "spotless Lamb of God".  As a result He redeemed us from Satan's power, and has given to each of us, through His Holy Spirit, power to be reunited with His Father (our Father) in Heaven.

As Jesus was leaving to return to Heaven, the promise was given by the angels to the disciples that He would come again, and take all His people (those who accept Him as their Saviour, their Substitute) back to Heaven.

God will wipe away all tears from our eyes, create a new heaven and new earth which will replace this old earth, and life will continue as it was originally planned before Adam and Eve fell to Satan's power.  Life will go on unending, and all of God's universe will be in harmony once again, and forever more.
